Why Trees Matter
“Why Trees Matter” is for all those interested in Ohio’s community forests: street tree commissions, mayors, community development and economic development managers, utility companies, nurserymen and landscapers and all citizens of Ohio interested in the resource of trees in our urban and suburban areas.
Join us October 22nd for the 4th Annual Why Trees Matter Forum. Discover the social, economic, and environmental impact of trees in your community. Keynote speaker, Joe R. McBride is Professor of Urban Forestry in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley. His research in urban forestry has focused on the reduction of air pollution by trees in urban areas, the relationship between urban forest characteristics and the characteristics of the biomes in which cities occur, history of the reconstruction of urban forests following bombing during World War II, the transition of natural forests to urban forests in California in the face of global climate change. McBride is a member of the Society of American Foresters and International Society of Arboriculture.
